They said that nothing could sink it, that its supremacy could never be challenged. The most luxurious, state-of-the-art, and by far the largest ocean liner of its time, taken out by one of nature's harshest elements. A mere two days into her maiden voyage, the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg in the midst of the north Atlantic. From the sunlit decks and richly furnished rooms of the first class to the metal bunk beds of third, the marvel of a passenger liner skimmed through the icy waters on its first and, as no one had dared to dream, last journey. Her maiden voyage ended in tragedy, chaos, and sadness. There were 2,200 passengers on board the vessel; 20 lifeboats. On the night of April 14-15, 1912, the RMS Titanic dove beneath the chilled waters of the Atlantic Ocean, taking 1500 lives with it, but leaving a legacy that will live on in our hearts for all eternity. Let us remember that fateful night.
One of the most heart-heavy tragedies.. God bless everyone on that ship and those lost one's families.
It really hit me last night, when I went to go see the Titanic 3D with my boyfriend + friends, how scary it was. I can't even IMAGINE being in that situation.
On lighter news, school is almost over.. and I'll be graduating! Yay! Our graduation is the earliest it's been in years, June 7th. I am attending Penn State in the fall and I'll be majoring in geology.
